The Westboro Baptist Church is a Church is against everyone including: Gays, Other church cultures, the way our government is ran, and mostly hates soldiers. By them showing how they truly feel they spend most of their time picketting soldiers funerals saying "Thank God for Dead Soldiers" and " America is Doomed". This church is consumed of only 100 members and most of them are family members. The children in this church function wear tee shirts that say "FAGGOT" on it. They are being protected by the 1st amendment which states freedom of speech, but dont you think that this is wrong?????????

I personally find this disturbing. I understand that the 1st amendment states that we have the freedom of speech, but people should know their limits. They can hold their views in their church and pray and preach for what they believe, but to show up at someone's sons or daughters funeral saying 'Thank God for Dead Soldiers' is just sick. Do you think that it would be the same for them if one of their children died in war or on September 11th? Personally i think they are starving for attention. That is why people go out and say things like they do. They said the church is consumed up of only 100 members. By doing such acts they may be gaining others and that could be why they continue. Also, i think it is horrible that they are influencing children with this behavior. religion is a choice and it should not be forced upon anyone. Growing up surrounded by this behavior, they will have no other choice or know of nay other way.
ReplyDeleteI completely agree with the comment above. I find this absolutely disgusting. Everyone has the right to their own opinions, but when they are used to discriminate against others is horrific ways a line is crossed. These people are supposedly acting as a result of their religious beliefs and in the "name of God." I'm sorry but that is such a cop out! This is a group of mentally disturbed people who clearly don't deserve any attention. I'm pretty sure whatever "God" you believe in would not appreciate the horrifying behavior of the Westboro Baptist Church. Just thinking about these people makes me furious. Perhaps there should be an amendment about not be an ignorant idiot...
