I heard about this little boy getting beat up by his step-father on the news and immediately thought about our class. The father admitted to having anger problems and never got the help he needed, which led to him killing his stepson for simply falling behind on homework. It's really sad to hear a story like this happen to such a little boy or anyone for that matter. This article could deal with mental illnesses or criminal behavior topics that we've discussed in class.
It is very hard to hear about the things that go on in peoples lives that we have no control over. The poor woman had no idea what was happening in that household. Just like in countries where women are treated as if they are children. People all over the world are subject to this type of cruelty, and we as Americans complain about small issues that we have as if they were the end of the world. This type of stuff happens everyday in other countries. But when do we take it upon ourselves to step in and "save" them? Could the woman have saved the little boy? Can America save innocent inhabitants of other countries. When will it stop!
ReplyDeleteI cannot believe things like this occur throughout our world today. It is so sad knowing that this could have been prevented if only this fater had gotten help. I wonder if anyone else in this boy's family could have helped or even friends. No one noticed any type of anger or abuse before to try and prevent this from happening? If this has been on-going in the boys life, he was probably to scared to tell anyone. We can only hope family, teachers, and friends will look out for abuse signs, to prevent more of these incidents from occuring.
ReplyDeleteIt is disgusting how people these days can do some of the things they do. There is no reason whatsoever to beat a child. No matter what they do there are always ways around it. Crimes like this should never happen in the first place. I just wish the neighbor would have sensed something was wrong to help prevent this from ever happening.
